Go with what you know

Last night, in Human Resources Management, Brandon, Kelly, and I brought up key differences in Mexican law and US law in terms of employment.

We talked about how Mexico does not have at-will firing capabilities with the employers, and the employees are given the power.

Interestingly, though, Connie suggested that from the beginning the employees are shafted in terms of pay, benefits, hours, and in general the work they do.  These low-skilled workers are already disadvantaged before ever entering the workplace.  So to try to level the playing field, the government provides the power to the employees once employed.

Just a different perspective on all that we've learned.  I wish I had video'd Brandon talking about Mexican employment law for this blog post!
