Intellectual Property Scavenger Hunt

The intellectual property scavenger hunt was one of my favorite things on this trip. It was so much fun to work together as a team to find counterfeit products in the market. I think what made it even more exciting was that we were filming each other and being silly, while still learning about the high volume of counterfeited products in this area of Mexico.

One of the funniest items we found was an item with Disney characters on it, except instead of saying "Disney," it said "Duoney". We found this extremely hilarious, but then again, maybe it was just funny to us since we had been walking around the market for three hours...everything ended up being funny! Another interesting item that Tyler found was a fake Rolex watch. It really did look so real! We were also astonished to see how many bootleg movies are made. They were all over the place! Every so often, we would walk up to these big piles of counterfeit DVDs in plastic slips scattered everywhere.

As we were finishing our hunt, we realized that we had walked very far into the market that we actually got lost for a little bit, but Brandon pulled out his iPhone and mapped us back to 62 and 33C. It was kind of fun being lost for a bit because it ended up being sort of funny, but as I said before, everything ended up being funny. This was such an exciting adventure that I will never forget!
